Why 2007 Microsoft Office Professional is Better than Earlier Versions of Microsoft Office

The 2007 Microsoft Office Professional has got some major changes that frequent users of the Microsoft Office already know of. The usual drop-down menus in its earlier versions have been changed with a new user interface called the “ribbon’ which is a new terminology used by Microsoft for this new feature.

It is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that shows only the icons that are commonly or frequently used. The GUI interface of the 2007 Microsoft Office Professional is divided into tabs that give users the convenience of navigation throughout the whole program and tabs are also divided and subdivided into groups of enhanced functions.

You can expect the following applications from the 2007 Microsoft Office Professional:

  • Office Word 2007
  • Office Excel 2007
  • Office PowerPoint 2007

The design of the interface is basically the same with the old look of the drop-down menus. It is not as intuitive as the rest of the other office programs and has no “live preview” to show the result of changes made automatically that makes it an inferior program from the latest version of PowerPoint with many great and amazing features.

Take note of the WordArt, for example, it is the same old designs and styles that limits the user in enhancing the looks of the designs. Simply put, the core features of the Publisher in 2007 Microsoft Office Professional is basically the same with that of Publisher 2003. The good thing about the Publisher program of the 2007 Microsoft Office Professional is that you can already produce PDF documents without the use of a third party converter, Pantone color matching, and can be programmed to print huge banners with the availability of banner templates.
