Broward Sheriff Office and community action.

The Broward Sheriff Office is located in Broward County, Florida. It’s jurisdiction comprises of several small cities and areas:

  • Central Broward
  • Cooper City
  • Dania Beach
  • Parkland
  • Pompano Beach

There are several more small cities and areas covered by the BSO, comprising all of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. There are several services offered and a great deal of community action that maintains the safety and standards of Broward County. There are many resources made available to the public by the BSO in order to keep the entire community productive and thriving.

The Broward Sheriff Office actually provides the entire Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood, Florida areas with many resources to keep themselves and their loved ones safe and healthy. There are many tips and tools provided on the website such as:

  • Identity theft
  • Hurricane guide
  • Kids come first
  • Restraining orders
  • Sexual assault

Each link on the website will open a page full of “how to” information concerning keeping safe from all risks within the community, crime or natural. Heeding the information provided should keep members of the community safe and healthy and provide a healthy environment that is crime-free.

The Broward Sheriff Office encourages the public to get involved with BSO efforts and help maintain safety where they live. The BSO works with citizens to perform citizen observer patrol, a neighborhood watch type of program. The sheriff’s office also offers Citizens Academy whereas citizens of the community can take a 12 week course and learn about law enforcement and what it does for them; also offered is Senior Citizen’s Academy working hands-on with the senior citizens of the community teaching them of the use and services of law enforcement and the processes that are undergone to perform such services.

The Broward Sheriff Office participates in charity and community awareness through The Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County. The fund offers assistance in these forms:

  • The Fallen Heroes Fund: Offering support for the families of fallen deputies and fire rescue.
  • The BSO Fund: Major fund supports community activity, awareness, and development of new services through the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Special Honor/Memorial Funds: Created for several deputies that were killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. Each fund will provide assistance to each deputy the fund was created for.

The Sheriff’s Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization so all donations made to it will be tax-deductible. The BSO cares about its community as well as those that serve to protect the community.

Every service and community event provided by the Broward Sheriff Office is geared towards keeping the community safe and productive through collaborated efforts with the community and those that serve the community. The BSO honors those that protect the community and provides several types of support for its employees and community as a whole.
